Broad Street Diner has been the neighborhood favorite in Hamilton, New Jersey for 25 years. Located at 2654 South Broad Street, the diner is a family-friendly place where people can go to enjoy a nice meal any time of the day.
The menu has a wide variety of foods including burgers, chicken tenders, steaks, seafood, and sandwiches. They also have a breakfast all day menu, and so they have more than enough meals for one to explore. The menu is easy to navigate through with a clear layout of food choices. If you know what you want then you will find it in a second.
For a beverage I had their lemonade, but it was a bit watered down. I ordered chicken soup as a side, which was the best part of my meal. It was just the right temperature and tasted amazing. The soup brought out the best in the chicken, noodles, and veggies which left me craving more. It was unfortunate that the bowl was small because I definitely wanted more.
For the meal, I had their California burger. It had pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, and a side of fries. The waiter was nice and presented the food in an orderly fashion. He was able to successfully provide the food and drinks with no trouble.
The burger was medium rare as ordered, but the bottom of the burger was soggy causing everything to almost fall apart. It was very messy. The fries were great, they were nice, crispy, and not overcooked or undercooked. It would have been better if the burger was not as juicy, but overall, it was a good meal.
The Broad Street Diner has a calm and relaxing appeal. The quiet atmosphere and soft lights of the dining area created a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
Asma Masoud, a customer at the diner says, “I rate the Diner a six out of ten, I had the chicken parmesan which was good, not great, because it was too watery.”
It’s understandable why she would think that, and it’s a shame that the burger isn’t the only meal that’s watery.
Jose Encarnacion, who’s in the National Guard, comes a lot with his mom to spend time with her and said, “You feel comfortable at this diner where you can get good breakfast with great service.”
He goes on to say that he loves the ambiance of the establishment and never had a bad experience.
The overall consensus of Broad Street is that it gives you a sense of safety and there is rarely a problem with it. The only flaw so far is the sogginess that the meals present at times.
Malachi Paul, a digital media major at Mercer, has gone there many times and has never had a problem with the diner. Paul says, “The food is always good. The shrimp calamari, which is what I always get, is always crispy and hot.” Paul continues, “They listen to me and cater to my needs.”
Overall, the Broad Street Diner is a solid eight out of ten. It is a great place to get a nice quick bite if you’re in the area. It has reasonable prices, but the food needs to be cooked a little better and less soggy. It has great customer service and it’s a place to most definitely come back to.
